In today’s lesson you must write TWO letters on behalf of your production company.
One will be to the Head of Commissioning at Channel 4 and the other to the Head of the school featured in ‘Educating Telford’
Once the letters are complete you should return to the checklist provided previously.

Year 13 Unit 4 Pre-Production Techniques
Focus on TV / Movie Production
The research undertaken in answering these questions will help you to meet the requirements for ASSIGNMENT 1.
Answer in a Word document. You may COPY and PASTE the questions into your document but you MAY NOT copy any answers from the web.
You should record the URL of the webpages you use as sources.
Finance
1. Write a description of each of the following methods of film finance, giving advantages and disadvantages of each.
• Self Financed
• Employer Financed
• Client Financed
• Crowd Funding
• Public Finance sources
2. List the aspects of a tv / movie production that will need financing.
3. Explain the concept of a ‘contingency’ in a budget.
4. What will a film production company expect in return for providing financial support for a project?
5. Define the term ‘completion bond’ and explain its role in the production of a TV
Logistics
- Give a broad definition of the term ‘logistics’.
- List the range of items that the logistics staff may need to deal with.
- Describe the range of transport options that may be used.
- In addition to physically moving objects, logistics will also make arrangements for the cast and crew at a shoot site. Draw a mind map diagram of the facilities the various members of cast and crew will need.

Yr 7 Animation continued…
In this lesson you need to ensure you have completed the following tasks:
- A WORD document that describes the storyline of your animation
- A completed POWERPOINT research document that covers:
- Early animated characters (Gertie, Steamboat Willie etc)
- The people who created them
- What is a ZOETROPE?
- What is CEL animation?
- What is STOP-FRAME animation?
- A description of a more MODERN animation
- Appropriate IMAGES should be used throughout
- A single TRANSITION style (such as dissolve or swipe) should be used between the slides
- The NOTES section should contain DETAILED information – the slide should have basic bullet points
- Your own animated story in POWERPOINT must be finished
- It should contain:
- a complete STORY (beginning – middle – end)
- at least TWO background scenes (using the Slide Master)
- Automatic transitions (should not need to click to move it forward)
- TITLES (at the beginning) and CREDITS (at the end)
- Write an assessment of someone else’s work (a PEER review). How well have they completed the task as outlined above?
- ALL OF YOUR WORK MUST BE STORED IN A FOLDER CALLED ‘ANIMATION’ INSIDE YOUR YR 7 COMPUTING FOLDER. MOVE IT OR RENAME IT IF YOU HAVE TO
Year 10 ICT – Database challenge
You have previously completed a database task following specific sets of instructions.
It is now time for you to apply your database knoweldge in a practical task you work on independently.
Your challenge is to create a database on the theme of Heroes of Computing.
- Who were/are the important figures in the development of computing?
- e.g. Turing, Lovelace, Babbage
- What categories of data will you need to display?
- Name, Surname, DoB, DoD. What else
- What will the data types be that you need to use?
- How will you capture the data?
- clue: remember the pizza parlour exercise we did?
- How can you be sure that information you research is correct?

Yr 9 Comp Science
Cover work for Mr Spennati’s class – period 3
You should continue with your animation project.
There should be at least 25 frames. When you have finished you should write a report using Microsoft Word. Your report should be structured as follows:
- What is your animation about?
- How have you created your animation? (explain the technique)
- What limitations have you had?
- Using screen shots from your animation, write up the story of your work.
- Write an evaluation of your work. Does your annimation work as you wanted it to?, How could you improve your annimation? What went well?, What would you do different if you made it again?
The report should be detailed with screen shot evidence throughout.

Today I will be teaching an additional lesson to Year 11 prior to their first examination on Wednesday afternoon. (not long until YOU that have exams just around the corner!!)
Your task today is to complete the Spreadsheet task from

Whether you are interested in shopping or not is irrelevant, this is a data analysis task.
It could be about anything at all and is typical of questions you may see in your B061 theory paper
You will need to create the spreadsheet first, following the instructions given,
